When APHF was established in September 2019, we could not have anticipated the momentous challenge that awaited us. The onset of COVID-19 and the critical work required by Africa CDC from early 2020 propelled APHF into a phase of significant and urgent growth.

The results and impact have been phenomenal. Since its establishment, APHF has raised over $25M from committed donors, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Skoll Foundation and the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. These donors have supported key areas of work from the establishment of APHF to the Africa CDC programmes we raise funds for, including the COVID-19 response.

Over the past two years, these donors along with a cohort of over 80 of the world’s leading foundations have formed a collective, working closely with APHF to unify efforts in tackling COVID-19 across the continent, supporting Africa CDC and APHF’s organisational priorities and providing solutions to upcoming challenges.

Now, APHF is at a critical juncture. While we have achieved considerable success in a short period of time, we now have the ambitious task to support Africa CDC in strengthening public health systems across the continent now and for future pandemics.

We are currently recruiting for two roles that will be key to achieving this:
