Call for a Technical Consultant for the Analysis of Neonatal Bloodstream Infection and Antimicrobial Resistance Data
APHF/Africa PGI seeks a highly qualified technical consultant to conduct a consolidated multi-country analysis of the KlebGEN datasets, characterise antimicrobial resistance (AMR) determinants and bacterial lineages, integrate genomic and epidemiological findings, and translate the evidence into recommendations relevant to empirical treatment, infection prevention and control (IPC), and AMR strategies.
OBJECTIVES
The consultant will undertake a rigorous, reproducible and policy-relevant analysis of the neonatal BSI datasets, including to:
- Clean, harmonise and quality-assure clinical, microbiological, epidemiological and genomic data.
- Characterise bacterial species, sequence types, AMR determinants, virulence factors and plasmid profiles.
- Conduct phylogenetic/genomic epidemiology analyses and assess genetic relatedness and potential transmission.
