Africa Public Health Foundation (APHF) supported Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), who are in partnership with ECHO Africa and the Ministry of Health, Ghana, in conducting a two-day training workshop in Accra from 25th to 26th February. The event brought together 50 participants from member states across the West Africa Region and the Africa CDC West Africa Regional Coordinating Centre (RCC) to enhance their skills and knowledge through the ECHO Workshop.

The workshop focused on several key objectives:
-
- Providing a comprehensive overview of the ECHO model and its practical applications.
- Equipping participants with the necessary skills to actively and effectively participate in the West Africa Regional ECHO platform.
- Developing a detailed workplan to guide the operationalization of the platform in the region.
- Officially launching the West Africa Regional ECHO platform.
This initiative underscores Africa CDC’s unwavering commitment to strengthening public health emergency preparedness and response across the continent. By fostering collaboration and building capacity, the workshop aimed to empower public health professionals to better address emerging health challenges in the region.
The training marked a significant step forward in leveraging innovative approaches like the ECHO model to improve health outcomes and ensure a coordinated response to public health threats. APHF and Africa CDC remain dedicated to supporting member states in building resilient health systems capable of safeguarding the well-being of all Africans.
