Cape Town, South Africa | October 2026

The Africa Public Health Foundation (APHF) is participating in the 2026 African Health Research Innovation Funders Forum (AHRIFF) convening in Cape Town, South Africa, strengthening partnerships and advancing dialogue on how Africa can mobilise more diverse and sustainable resources for public health.

Our Head of External Relations and Resource Mobilisation, Ky’okusinga Kirunga chaired a session exploring how the private sector can become a more active partner in financing and supporting public health across the continent. The discussion underscored the importance of broadening the range of partners contributing to Africa’s public health priorities. Greater private-sector engagement offers opportunities to build new collaborations, mobilise additional resources and develop more sustainable approaches to strengthening public health systems.

For APHF, this engagement reflects its growing focus on connecting public health priorities with diverse sources of partnership, investment and support. By fostering collaboration across sectors, the foundation seeks to help expand the resources and partnerships available to address Africa’s evolving health challenges. As Africa advances its health security and sovereignty agenda, mobilising sustainable resources and strengthening cross-sector collaboration will be essential to building resilient public health systems that can respond to the continent’s priorities.

Through its participation at AHRIFF 2026, APHF continues to champion partnerships that bring together diverse actors and resources in support of a stronger, more sustainable public health future for Africa.
